Compass Meeting Planning is a full-service meeting and conference planning company based in Denver, Colorado.

We handle all aspects of meeting and event management for conferences, meetings, events and trade shows scheduled anywhere in the United States as well as International destinations. Our team includes a cadre of seasoned meeting professionals, service providers, registration personnel, and creative design professionals with 8 to 15 years of experience producing meetings and conventions for associations and corporations in the scientific, medical, education, technology, and financial sectors.

Tina Watkins

Tina Watkins, CMP, Founder and President

Tina brings over 20 years of experience planning and executing successful international association and corporate meetings, conventions, and trade shows. She is passionate about building collaborative relationships, providing strategic project, marketing, and financial management that reduces costs and risk to help her clients’ achieve their goals.

For over 11 years, Tina served as the Director of Meeting Management for Cambium Learning Group.  She directed a $4 million dollar budget and a team of six meeting planners and registrars who produced over 30 meetings annually. These included 15 annual multi-day Summer Institutes located across the United States and 20 conferences in Germany and Japan to fulfill a contract with the Department of Defense Education Division.  At that point in time, Cambium recruited her from an association management company based in Colorado where she produced annual meetings and trade shows, ranging between 800 to 2,500 attendees and 20 to 150 exhibitors, for the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, the North American Nature Photography Association, and the Society for Scholarly Publishing.

Tina took the entrepreneurial leap seven years ago and started her own successful meeting management company — Compass Meeting Planning, LLC.

She earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 2007 and holds a BS in Business with an emphasis in Marketing from Regis University, Denver, CO. Tina is an avid golfer, foodie, loves traveling to new places, and spending time with her family and friends – especially near or in the ocean.

Sue Anderson

Sue Anderson, Meeting Manager

Sue and Tina have worked together and collaborated on conference projects for over 6 years. Sue brings many years of successful planning as a corporate and association meeting manager. She developed her skills in marketing communications at a medical device company where she managed the MarCom budget, directed the design and development of product/sales collateral, translations, training videos, journal advertising and media placement. In addition, she has managed trade shows, exhibits, customer events, incentive programs, and a global donor recruitment program.

Sue gives each meeting a personal and innovative experience based on business goals and objectives. She not only provides the dedication and expertise needed to plan, manage and execute meetings, she also has a solid history of saving money and resources.

Sue is the mother of two grown daughters, an avid golfer and a dedicated USO volunteer.

Elizabeth Pearce

Elizabeth Pearce, Financial Manager

With over 20 years in the Event Industry, Elizabeth brings Financial and Strategic Management expertise to the team.  She functions as controller for the non-profits to keep them on a sustainable path for future growth including, financial reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic planning. She also manages technology aspects of conferences, trade shows and corporate events. Finding solutions including mobile event apps, online registration site building, credit card processing interface, and on-site registration management. She has worked with small businesses, non-profits, medical associations, and large corporations while enjoying the challenges each unique client brings.

Elizabeth has a BS in Business from the University of Colorado with an emphasis in Finance & Marketing, and is a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor.  She is also an avid sailor and when not working can be found on Colorado’s mountain lakes on a sailboat with her husband.
